New Hope in collaboration with Depot Community Food Centre and with the financial participation of the Government of Quebec as part of the Quebec Friendly to Seniors program is proud to be starting a new program inside the local HLMs!
The project is set to start in November in 3 HLMs: Girouard, Monkland and St Raymond, with the objective of expanding to include HLM Terrebonne and HLM Mayfair in January 2025.
The QADA/HLM project
This project aims to establish an indoor market and activities twice a month in each HLM in NDG.
Managed by the Depot Community Food Centre, the mini-markets will provide fresh produce at subsidized prices for seniors. Concurrently, New Hope will organize complementary activities and workshops focused on art, movement, and practical skills.
Together, we seek to enhance the lives of seniors in NDG’s HLMs by reducing isolation, improving access to fresh and diverse foods, and fostering healthy habits.
