Mind.Heart.Mouth Garden collaboration with Recipes for the Future
A project brought to you by New Hope Senior Citizens’ Centre, made possible through funding from the Government of Canada
Join the mind.heart.mouth 2026 gardening season!
In partnership with the New Hope Senior Citizens’ Centre and as part of the Recipes for the Future initiative funded by the Government of Canada, the mind.heart.mouth garden is an intergenerational space that supports community connection and fresh food for Meals on Wheels. Volunteers aged 50+ commit to one morning shift per week.
Through this collaboration, New Hope (RFF) members participate directly in growing healthy, local food. Volunteers help cultivate seasonal produce and receive a weekly basket of fresh vegetables. These harvests also support New Hope’s biweekly community lunches, where people gather to share meals, stories, and connection. In addition, vegetables from the garden are distributed through the Meals on Wheels program and weekly basket deliveries for community members who may face barriers to accessing fresh food.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to community well-being. Every hour volunteered and every basket harvested strengthens a network of care, support, and belonging. Together, mind.heart.mouth and New Hope foster a welcoming environment where people of all ages can contribute to a healthier, more connected community.
