New Hope is excited to offer the Senior Wellness Initiative, bringing fun, health education, and health promotion activities to English-speaking seniors right here in our community.

The Senior Wellness Initiative is funded by the CHSSN and the Secrétariat aux relations avec les Québécois d’expression anglaise.

Launched in September 2024, the Senior Wellness Initiative offers lively twice‑monthly activities that are always a little different—sometimes relaxing, sometimes energizing, and always welcoming. One session you might enjoy High Tea or gentle meditation; the next, you could be dancing to uplifting music, discovering tips on health and nutrition, meeting a guide dog, learning about community resources, or even trying a fun new craft or “unusual bite” from around the world.

These activities are designed not only to share useful information about health and social services but also to spark curiosity, encourage new friendships, and reduce isolation in a warm, supportive space. Whether you come to learn, laugh, move, or simply connect, each gathering brings a fresh surprise and a friendly place to belong.

All activities in the Senior Wellness Initiative are completely free and open to people aged 50 and over. Registration is required, but you’re free to pick and choose the activities that interest you most—there’s no need to sign up for the entire program. Just reserve your spot, come as you are, and enjoy the experience that suits you best.
